My pair of Belay Optics belay glasses have been awesome. I typically climb 2-3 days a week in the gym and have been wearing a different pair of belay glasses pushed on top of my prescription glasses. My old belay glasses were double the price of the Belay Optics and don’t work nearly as well with prescription glasses.

They are made of a light weight plastic that seems pretty sturdy and has held up well so far. The prisms also seem like they are of a high quality and are very clear when using them either indoors or out. I’m also a big fan of the fact that each prism can be adjusted horizontally, so they line up perfectly with my eyes.

As a side note, my wife doesn’t wear glasses, but she likes to wear these with sunglasses when we’re climbing outside.

I held off getting belay glasses because I felt self-conscious wearing them. I’m petite, and whenever I wore a pair, I felt like a weirdo. The streamlined look of Belay Optics’ glasses intrigued me enough to give them a try. And now I never belay without them. They are super comfy, and I’ve adjusted them to fit perfectly.

My neck and elbows feel so much better since I started using them. I spend more days climbing and fewer days recovering from neck pain.

I’m super psyched on the adjustable width of the Belay Optics lenses. My head is really small and when I’ve tried other belay glasses the image is a bit blurry because the prisms are too far apart, so I get a headache if I wear them for very long. I’m able to adjust the Belay Optics narrow enough to be perfect for me! I also love that I can wear them with sunglasses. They’re incredibly helpful when you’re climbing in the shade of a cave but the sun angle is blinding looking out the belay.

I use the Belay Optic glasses on my sunglasses while climbing outside! It’s so convenient to be able to slide these right on and not have to worry about finagling a pair of belay glasses around my sunnies. I was initially concerned about scratching my glasses, however the plastic coating on the clips is great leaving no marks and keeping the prisms secure. Normally glasses aren’t a ‘one size fits all’, so being able to adjust these made a world of a difference. Lessening eye strain from prisms that were set too wide for my eyes allowed me to belay with out eye strain or neck pain. These are great to use for days spent outside climbing.

I always try to protect my eyes, skin and head while outside, so it’s great that Belay Optics help to protect your neck!

I am absolutely delighted with the belay glasses!  I initially fiddled around putting them on my prescription glasses (should have checked your instruction video first!).  However now I have figured it out the belay glasses are very easy to put on and remove. I was worried that they may scratch my prescription lenses, but this has not been an issue. I keep them in the case attached to my harness.  I have used them both indoors and outdoors and found that the clarity of the vision is excellent. No doubt being able to adjust to suit my eye width has made all the difference.  I am really happy with them as for the first time in years I can belay without getting a sore neck. I also found the the visual field is very good, so should any rocks get dislodged from above the belayer should be able to dodge them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wears prescription glasses.

I’ve wanted to get belay glasses for a while but I have to wear prescription glasses all the time. The magnification effect of regular belay glasses aren’t sufficient for me to go without my rx glasses. So when I saw these I thought I’d give them a try. And they work great. I can wear my regular glasses with these and have belay glasses without looking like some kind of weird bug with two pairs of glasses on. The clip made them easy to get on and off of my regular glasses.

I ended up taking a back-up pair of prescription glasses and attaching these to them so I can switch to belay mode rapidly. There’s no need to do this though. If you spend a little time up front getting the clips set/sized right (there are spacers included if you have thinner frames) and the lenses spaced, then secure them in place you can flip these on and off your glasses about as fast as putting on a new pair of glasses.

If something isn’t right with your order, their customer service is fast and responsive. The loop on my case broke and they expeditiously shipped me a replacement which has worked without a problem. They reported the defect back to the manufacturer to troubleshoot the problem so it wouldn’t be an issue with future orders.

I’ve recommended these to my climbing partners who are prescription glasses wearers and I’d recommend them to you.
